George Town World Heritage City Day is a public holiday in the state of Penang, Malaysia, and it is observed on July 7 each year.
On July 7, 2008, George Town was awarded the status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, together with Melaka, in honor of the ancient heritage sites and various cultures.
